Full Home Automation for a Cuffe Parade Apartment
Savant and KNX control with 11 keypads, smart curtains and lighting, four music zones plus Sonos soundbars, a DoorBird video door phone and Ekey fingerprint locks.
Project Overview
This Cuffe Parade apartment was automated from end to end: lighting, curtains, fans, music and entry all work from one Savant system on a KNX backbone.
Keypads in matching finishes sit room by room, the entrance has a Savant touch screen, and the front door has a DoorBird video door phone with Ekey fingerprint locks on the walk-in wardrobes.

Audio
- Living room: 2 Gray Sound C40 in-ceiling speakers and a Rythmik L12 Direct Servo subwoofer
- Dining room: 2 Gray Sound C40 in-ceiling speakers
- Two bathrooms: 1 RBH A-600 in-ceiling speaker each
- AudioControl M4840 8-channel amplifier and a Savant music server playing Spotify, Tidal, TuneIn or AirPlay in one zone or grouped
- Sonos Arc soundbars in a bedroom and the den, with a Sonos Sub in the den
Automation
- Savant host, entrance touch screen and app (home automation)
- 11 keypads across the living room, master bedroom, two bedrooms and the den
- Main and sheer curtains in the living room, dining room and bedrooms, plus blinds in two bedrooms
- Lighting including the puja room, bar and the living and dining chandeliers, and fans in the bedrooms and den
- KNX DALI gateway, switching, blind and dimming actuators and Tense motion sensors
- Scenes such as Entertain and Night from the keypads and the app

- DoorBird D1101FV video door station with an A1101 indoor screen, plus the DoorBird app (smart security)
- Ekey xLine fingerprint scanners with drop-bolt locks on two walk-in wardrobes
- Ekey Home Integra keypad at the main entrance
- Ubiquiti camera in the kitchen and doorbells in the bedrooms
WiFi and Rack
- Ubiquiti WiFi access points in the living room, dining room, bedrooms and den (networking and WiFi)
- Ubiquiti router, switch and camera recorder with OvrC remote monitoring
- 22U Jyotitech rack with AC Infinity cooling fans
Secure, Simple Entry
At the front door, a DoorBird video door station shows who is calling on the indoor screen and the phone, and Ekey fingerprint scanners open the wardrobe locks without keys.

Room by Room
The automation is designed to disappear into the rooms. Here is how it looks in the finished apartment, from the bedrooms to the entrance.
Two Bedrooms
Keypads sit beside each bed and control lighting, curtains and fans from the same Savant and KNX system as the rest of the apartment.
Curtains and Entrance
Main and sheer curtains run on motors with cove lighting above the window line. The entrance carries the Savant touch screen, the DoorBird video door station and the Ekey keypad, set into the home's materials and lighting.
